How to Change Your Address With NVI: e-Devlet and the Population Directorate
After moving, the new address is declared through e-Devlet's "Address Declaration" or at the population directorate. Missing the deadline may result in an administrative fine.
Short answer: The new address is declared within about 20 days after moving, through e-Devlet's "Address Declaration" service or by going to the district population directorate. Confirm the exact period and how it is counted from the current information on the e-Devlet screen.
With e-Devlet
- Log in to e-Devlet with your Turkish ID number and password.
- Type "Address Declaration" in the search field.
- Enter the new address details in full.
- Confirm with verification (SMS, mobile signature or e-signature).
With the population directorate
Go to the district population directorate with your Turkish ID card and declare the new address. If necessary, a document verifying the address (rental contract, subscription bill) may be requested.
Deadline and fine
If the change of address is not declared within the deadline, an administrative fine may be imposed by the local administrative authority. The penalty for a false declaration is much higher. Current fine amounts increase every year by the revaluation rate.
