Is There Mobile Reception at Home? Checking the Connection During a Home Visit
When you’re out and about, don’t just judge your mobile signal by the signal bars. Carry out a quick check of the room, your network provider, and your call and data usage.

The fact that your phone works in the living room does not mean you will have the same experience throughout the house. Conditions relating to the room, the building, the device and the network provider may all have an impact. A quick, planned check is useful for anyone who makes frequent calls or works from home.
Check with your own device
The signal strength indicator on another phone does not directly reflect your own usage. If possible, carry out tests with your own network provider in the bedroom, your workspace and frequently used areas. Tests should be carried out with permission and whilst respecting privacy.
The signal bar is not the only indicator
It can give you an idea of the clarity of a short call or the performance of a daily data app. Do not assume a guarantee of continuous service based on a single test. Times and network load may vary. Device settings that affect calls or connectivity should also be assessed.
Separate building sections
Flats, car parks and communal entrances may present different conditions. If you require a connection in the car park, carry out observations at a safe location. Do not attempt risky tests in lifts or technical areas. Comply with building security regulations and do not enter unauthorised areas.

Fixed-line internet is a separate matter
Mobile networks and home internet are different services. If you plan to use support features dependent on the device and provider, obtain up-to-date information from your operator. Do not assume that a fixed connection that has not yet been set up will resolve all issues. An in-room wireless network may also require separate planning.
Observation log
Which room, device and provider were used? Was it a voice call or data usage? What was the date and time? What issues remain to be raised with the provider? These notes are not a professional coverage report; they merely allow you to compare against your own daily routine.
When searching for a property with Buy Best Villa, specify your connectivity requirements from the outset. Verify the general ‘good signal’ description against your personal usage and discuss any critical uncertainties with the provider.
