Living in Konyaaltı, Antalya: A Neighbourhood Guide for Buyers
Beach, mountains and year-round city life: what it is like to live in Konyaaltı, who it suits and what to check before you buy.

Konyaaltı is the district most foreign buyers fall for on their first visit: a long beach, a mountain range rising straight behind it, and a city that works all year round. This guide explains what everyday life there is like, who it suits, and what to look for when buying.
Where is Konyaaltı?
Konyaaltı lies on the western side of Antalya, between the city centre and the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Its coastline is one long pebble beach running west for several kilometres, with the old town a short drive or bus ride to the east.
Everyday life

- The beach and promenade. A wide seafront path with cycling lanes, parks, playgrounds and outdoor sports areas runs along the beach. People walk, run and swim here from spring well into autumn.
- Year-round services. Supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, schools and a large public university are all in the district, so it does not empty out in winter the way purely touristic resorts do.
- Things to do nearby. Antalya Museum sits at the eastern end of the beach, and a cable car at the western end climbs to a viewpoint over the bay. See our guide to places near the centre for more.
Neighbourhoods at a glance
- Close to the beach (Liman, Hurma, Sarısu): the most in-demand streets, with easy access to the sea. Expect higher prices and busier summers.
- Slightly inland (Uncalı, Arapsuyu, Altınkum, Gürsu): established residential areas with many gated complexes, schools and everyday shops. Often better value, and still a short drive to the beach.
What kind of property is there?
Most homes in Konyaaltı are apartments, typically in gated complexes (site) with a pool, gardens and security. Newer buildings are generally concentrated closer to the sea, while inland areas mix newer complexes with older low-rise blocks. Detached villas are rarer and usually further west or up the hillsides.
Who is it for?
- Families who want schools, parks and the beach within reach.
- Buyers planning to live in Antalya for most or all of the year.
- Anyone who wants a walkable, lively area without being in the busiest part of the city.
Buying tips for Konyaaltı
- Check the exact address if you need a residence permit: some neighbourhoods in Antalya are closed to new foreign residence registrations.
- Visit in the evening as well as during the day. Streets near the beach are lively in summer, which some buyers love and others do not.
- Ask about complex fees. Pools, gardens and security are pleasant but add to the monthly management fee (aidat).
