Antalya Weather Through the Year: Is It Good for Year-Round Living?
Mild winters, hot summers and around 2,800 hours of sunshine: Antalya's weather season by season, and what it means for the home you choose.

Antalya is known for its summers, but many buyers want to know what the rest of the year is like before they commit to living here. The short answer: mild, green winters, a long warm season and plenty of sunshine. Here is what to expect month by month, and how it affects the home you choose.
The climate in brief
Antalya has a Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The city gets around 2,800–2,900 hours of sunshine a year, which puts it among the sunniest places on the Mediterranean.
Season by season
Spring (March–May)
Warm days, cool evenings and everything in flower. The sea is still fresh, but by May many people are swimming. One of the best times to view property.
Summer (June–September)

Hot and dry, with very little rain from June to August. Average temperatures in the warmest month are around 29°C, daytime highs are often in the mid-30s, and heatwaves above 40°C happen. The sea is warm, reaching around 28°C in August. Humidity near the coast can make the heat feel stronger.
Autumn (October–November)
Often the favourite season of people who live here: the sea stays warm into October, the crowds thin out and temperatures become comfortable again. Rain returns gradually in November.
Winter (December–February)
Mild by European standards, with average temperatures in the coldest month around 10°C. Most of the year's rain falls in winter, often in heavy but short bursts, with sunny days in between. Snow is very rare in the city, but the Taurus Mountains behind it are often white, a striking view from the beach. The sea drops to around 16–17°C.
What this means for your home
- Cooling matters most. Air conditioning in every main room is standard. Check the age and efficiency of the units.
- Plan for winter comfort too. Many homes heat with air conditioning, while some have natural gas or underfloor heating. Good insulation and double glazing make a real difference to comfort and bills.
- Orientation and shade. South-facing terraces are lovely in winter but hot in summer, so look for shading, awnings or covered balconies.
- Damp in winter. Ground-floor and poorly ventilated homes can suffer from damp in the rainy season. Look for signs during viewings.
- Pools. An unheated pool is usually comfortable from late spring to autumn.
Is it good for year-round living?
For most people, yes. Summer is the only season some residents find challenging, and many simply adapt their day, staying out early and late. If you prefer fresher summer evenings, look at areas slightly away from the coast, such as Döşemealtı.
