Altıntaş, Antalya: A Guide to the Fast-Growing Area by the Airport
Three kilometres from the airport and close to Lara and Kundu: daily life, planned growth, what to check and new complexes in Altıntaş.

Altıntaş is a new residential area in Antalya's Aksu district, about 3 km in a straight line from the airport, that has grown rapidly and according to plan in recent years. With wide new roads, new complexes with pools and quick access to the Lara and Kundu beaches, it is on the shortlist of many people looking for a home to live in or to rent out. The area is still developing, so it is worth knowing both its advantages and what is not yet in place.
This guide explains where Altıntaş is, why it has grown so fast, how daily life works there and who it suits.
At a glance: Altıntaş
- District: Aksu, on Antalya's eastern growth corridor.
- Airport: about 3 km in a straight line.
- Coast: the Lara and Kundu shores are a few kilometres to the south.
- Planning: a new residential area shaped by a zoning plan revision approved by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in 2018.
- Homes: from 1+1 apartments to 3+1 garden duplexes in new complexes with pools, gyms and covered parking.
- Keep in mind: infrastructure and shops are still being completed, so a car makes daily life much easier.
Where is Altıntaş?
Altıntaş lies on the eastern side of the city, in the triangle between Antalya Airport and the Lara–Kundu coastline. Administratively it belongs to Aksu, which became a district in 2008. To the west are Lara and Muratpaşa, to the south Kundu with its large hotels, and to the north the airport and the commercial strip along the D400 highway.
This position puts the area close to two of the city's main draws at the same time: the airport and the eastern beaches. If you are curious about life in Lara and central Muratpaşa, see our guide to Lara and Muratpaşa.
Why has Altıntaş grown so fast?
A planned residential area
Altıntaş has not grown haphazardly; its growth follows a plan. According to Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, planning for the area began in 2018, and on 8 October 2018 the metropolitan council approved a revised zoning plan covering about 1,485 hectares across several neighbourhoods. The plan opened the way for former farmland to become a new residential district with wide roads and regular plots.
New roads and infrastructure
The area is also part of the municipality's urban transformation and development zone in the Çalkaya region. The municipality has announced that it opened about 7.5 km of new planned roads in the Altıntaş and Güzelyurt neighbourhoods, and most of the new complexes are rising along them.
The airport and the eastern corridor
Being close to Antalya Airport makes Altıntaş attractive to frequent flyers and people who work around the airport. The tram line from the city centre to the airport and the site of EXPO 2016 runs north of the area, but Altıntaş itself is not directly on the rail line.
What is daily life like in Altıntaş?
Shopping and services
Supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés and small businesses are opening quickly on the ground floors of new complexes and along the main roads. Large shopping malls and outlets are a short drive away on the commercial strip in Altınova.
Getting around
Municipal buses connect Altıntaş with the city centre and the airport. Even so, because the area is spread out, a car makes everyday life much easier. The city centre, around Kaleiçi for example, is about 10 km away in a straight line.
Schools
Because this is a new residential area, school provision is growing along with the population. We recommend that families with children check, before moving, which state school they would be registered with and how far the private schools are. For international options, see our guide to international schools in Antalya.
The sea
The Lara and Kundu beaches are a few kilometres to the south. In summer you can reach the beach without crossing the city, a clear advantage over the central neighbourhoods.
What should you check before buying in Altıntaş?
- Construction: building work is ongoing. Ask whether today's open view could be blocked later and what the zoning is on neighbouring plots.
- Flight paths: as in any area near an airport, visit the home at different times of day and judge the aircraft noise for yourself.
- Building permit and occupancy certificate: check the building permit for new projects and, when you buy, the status of the occupancy certificate (iskân).
- Site fees: complexes with large pools and many facilities have higher monthly fees (aidat); include them in your rental yield calculation.

Two examples in Altıntaş: Sirius Level and Sirius Modern
Two projects are enough to see the different types of complex in the area.
Sirius Level is a boutique complex known for its stepped terrace architecture, with each floor set back from the one below. Some of its 1+1 apartments of about 44–45 m² net have private terraces of 8 m² to 44 m², while the 2+1 apartments are about 70 m² net with an en-suite main bedroom. The pool, gym, sauna and covered parking are shared, and VRV air conditioning and underfloor heating are standard in the apartments.
Sirius Modern is on a larger scale: 96 homes in three seven-storey blocks, plus a commercial section with shops and offices. It has a 500 m² outdoor pool, a gym, a sauna, a basketball court and covered parking with electric car charging. Units range from 1+1 apartments of 35–40 m² net to 2+1 apartments of 90 m² net and 3+1 duplexes with private gardens.
In short, Sirius Level may be the better starting point if you want a small, quiet complex, and Sirius Modern if you are looking for extensive shared facilities.
Who is Altıntaş right for?
- Frequent flyers and people working near the airport: being a few minutes from the terminal makes daily life much easier.
- Buyers who want a new building with facilities: a pool, gym and covered parking are almost standard here.
- Rental investors: new, well-kept apartments appeal to tenants; we compare the options in long-term vs holiday lets.
- Beach-loving families: Lara and Kundu are close by.
If you want a life in the historic centre where you can walk everywhere, the central neighbourhoods will suit you better.
